A new platform, developed by Frog Systems, is being used by a leading UK housing association to improve the wellbeing of tenants in Merseyside.
ForHousing chose the technology as part of its commitment to help residents of Stockbridge Village in Knowsley find new ways to enjoy their community and have the right tools to prioritise their wellbeing as COVID-19 restrictions start to ease.
The platform Frog Systems has developed combines the use of video, search terms and location data to create a single platform where users can find support with all aspects of their wellbeing. Optimised for mobile, it can incorporate applications and therefore complements rather than replaces any existing wellbeing tools that a client already has in place.
Martyn Hague, Director of Neighbourhoods at ForHousing said: “Frog Systems has designed our new video-led wellbeing service to help people to put their own wellbeing first. The website is tailored to provide a one-stop shop to help tenants focus on the things that would make them feel better.
“It all builds on our wider commitment to improving people’s lives and wellbeing through our wellbeing strategy. Launched last year, the strategy is focused on ensuring people have stable homes, improved digital access, improved physical and mental health, keeping people connected and providing opportunities for continual learning and increased prosperity.”
The ForHousing platform has been given the name WellSpace. It contains bite-sized videos of tenants, partners and stakeholders sharing their life experiences and advice, alongside two large directories with details of local support organisations and a raft of useful resources. The content focuses on the many different aspects of wellbeing including finances, equality and inclusion, mental and physical health, the environment, and issues affecting the community
Many of the 500+ tenants in Stockbridge Village were hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic, with some receiving additional help with food and fuel during the winter lockdown. The WellSpace platform provides a tailored service and is an integral part of ForHousing’s strategy to improve digital access for tenants, to keep them connected and physically and mentally well.
Phil Worms, CEO of Frog Systems, said: “The pandemic has made people of all ages feel much more comfortable consuming content online. By putting video at the heart of the platform we have built for ForHousing, the tenants are able to offer peer-to-peer support, helping to lessen the stigma around issues such as mental health.”
While every individual search on the platform is confidential, the real-time anonymised back-end data will provide ForHousing with insight into the issues being faced by tenants, information that the housing association can use to make decisions about how it allocates resources in the future.
